Love-You-to-(puzzle)Pieces & Twine Wrapped Star

The puzzle piece LOVE garland at Exquisitely Unremarkable was the inspiration for this project. She does the most wonderful things with old puzzle pieces. Totally worth your while to skip over to her page and peruse.

Here is my take on her project in celebration of Valentine's Day:

I followed the tutorial at Exquisitely Unremarkable for the puzzle heart and used gloss enamel acrylic paint in Tuscan Red.
Twine Wrapped Star:
The twine wrapped star was inspired by this photo via pinterest.
My twine wrapped Popsicle star! Just need hot glue!
Her version used Popsicle sticks, mine was made with paint stir sticks and hot glued as I went.

Took a couple hours for the wrapping part. The DH was watching Big Top PeeWee (he has a thing for 80's movies) and all I can say is that I'm glad I had a project to occupy the other half of my brain that wasn't being used. (I'll admit, I did laugh, but not something I could just sit through.)

Totally love the star as-is and it usually hangs by itself. The puzzle heart adds a nice "lovely" bit of color ~~ a cheesy pun, yes. It'll match the v-day card my DH gets. Maybe one with PeeWee and Winnie? Just kidding.

Think I'll go with these "pieces" of love (oh, I can't stop with the corny puzzle/love puns).

  1. I don't know what I love more...the craft or the box of 80's heart throbs. Plus Mr. Darcy, that's my fav movie line "You have bewitched me body and soul and I love love love you and never wish to be parted from you again."

Such a great blog...can't wait to read more!
